Knocked-Out Permanent Tooth
Pick your knocked-out tooth up by the crown without touching the root. If it’s dirty, rinse it gently without scrubbing. Try to return it to the socket, but do not force it. If that’s not possible, place the tooth in milk and get to us within the hour if you can.
Severe Toothache
Rinse your mouth with warm water. Floss gently around your painful tooth in case something is trapped nearby. A cold compress against your cheek may help with swelling until you can be seen by Dr. Carmichael.
Chipped or Broken Tooth
If your filling falls out, cover the exposed area with a small piece of sugar-free gum until your appointment. If your crown comes loose, keep it safe and bring it with you, but don’t try to reattach it yourself.
